What’s Hot – Fairway Woods

6 June 2012

2012 sees a new range of golf clubs hitting the shops promising to be the best yet. But with so many new releases how do you know who to trust? Caddyshack Rentals are here to help. We’ve already taken a look at the best drivers and putters of 2012… but what about those all important Fairway Woods?

Taylormade R11S – The ultra-thin crown saves weight that’s used to position the CG (centre of gravity) slightly forward. The theory is that a forward CG will help golfers produce more ball speed while reducing excessive spin. The three-way adjustable soleplate and changeable hosel offer 24 fitting options!

Ping G20 – The G20 has a larger clubhead than the previous G15. The deep face and external weight pad allow the CG to be low and farther back to help launch the ball higher and for more stability. The purpose of the shallow, variable-thickness face is to improve ball speed across a wide area.

Cleveland CG Black – Designed for swing speeds of less than 95 miles per hour, the CG Black features Cleveland’s ultralight technology to help increase swing speed – the entire club weighs 40-50g less than a typical fairway wood. The crown is designed to improve aerodynamics.

So there you have it; our top tips for new golf clubs. Pop back later in the month when we take on 2012’s irons!
