Out and about in Cape Town: Events

4 December 2012

If you’re heading out to South Africa this month and are staying in the Western Cape area then do we have a treat for you. Every Sunday from November 13th – December 15th the Sunday Village Market opens its doors at the Cape Quarter in Green Point. A local favourite this Market truly represents the heart and culture of the Mother City.

The Village Market at Cape Quarter is a unique, European Lifestyle Market that supports local goods and produce, all the while striving to be as organic and environmentally friendly as possible. The Village Market is a centrally located with an alfresco vibe – enhanced by an abundance of shops, restaurants and specialty services.

A fantastic day out for all the family the market includes:

• Live Music
• Organic fruit & vegetables
• Organic and Fair-trade coffee
• Specialty food market- a smörgåsbord of fresh, gourmet style foods

The Village Market area is currently undergoing renovation thereby contributing to the Cape Town 2014 World Design Capital Event.  The attention to detail given to the design is paramount with the emphasis being on raw, recycled and reused. Designer tables and seating are arriving daily, provided by Pierre Cronje.

Open from 10:00 – 15:00hrs every Sunday this really is a must-see attraction, so if you’re in the area while the village market is in town then we definitely recommend working it into your itinerary!
