Golf Lessons of a fashion kind

21 August 2012

The Sunshine Tour kicked off this week and is yet another example of how many pro golfers are not just taking their game, but their golfing fashion all that more seriously! Last month we looked a few hints and tips when it comes to choosing your match day style. This month Caddyshack Rentals turns our attention to a real faux pas in the fashion stakes;

Good Fit Vs Bad Fit

When wearing a golf shirt, your sleeves should be three-quarters of the way to your elbow. If you’re trim and in good shape, they can be higher than that. Regardless, If you can’t see your elbow, you’ve gone too far.

Keep it inside! When wearing a crewneck sweater over a sport/polo-shirt shirt, keep the collar in for a trim, clean look.

Shorts should fall to just above your kneecaps. Be careful here; with shorts, too long is sloppy. Too short is obscene.

The bottom of your trousers should kiss the top of your shoes.

If you thought ‘a good fit’ was important for regular golf apparel, it is paramount when it comes to outerwear and rainwear, which should be worn trim. Oversized clothing does not enable you to swing freely. If anything, it gets in the way.
