Culinary Challenge, Cape Town

3 August 2012

If you’re lucky enough to be in Cape Town this month then we highly recommend you make your way down to the V&A Waterfront at some point, as all this month it plays hosts to the awe-inspiring ‘Master of the Trade Routes Culinary Challenge’.

Join locals and tourists alike to celebrate the melting pot of Cape Town with delicious delights from all corners of the earth laid on as part of this eagerly awaited competition. The 25 restaurants battling it out will create fusion dishes inspired by the vibrant and diverse flavours representing the roots of South Africa; from Dutch to Chinese, Indian to Italian, Portuguese to Malay and French to British.

You are the judges and will be asked to score the restaurants on various elements such as, value for money, use of seasonal ingredients and, of course, creative flair! The competition comes to a close on the 31st August and once all the scores have been counted one restaurant will win the honour of the ‘People’s Choice Award’.
